This week, AnswerLabbers are remembering the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless other Black lives lost at the hands of violence. We are heartbroken by the continued acts of racism across our country and pray the protests in our cities bring much needed change to the long-standing systems of oppression and injustice against our Black communities.

We won’t be silent or complicit.

Today, we are publicly standing up against the racism and discrimination that continues to permeate our country. It’s time for radical change. For anyone still learning about systemic racism in our country, we encourage you to explore this list of anti-racism resources.

We will be allies to Black communities and other under-represented groups.

Last year, we invited ReadySet to coach AnswerLab in our efforts to make inclusivity a business priority. They opened our eyes to the many ways minority groups experience microaggressions, bias, and full-on racist and discriminatory acts in their daily lives, and helped us see that while we had built a positive culture already, we had more opportunities to support all AnswerLabbers. We commit to continue growing our skills in allyship and strongly encourage other companies to engage with ReadySet as well.

We will leverage AnswerLab’s financial resources to fight injustice.

This weekend, AnswerLab donated $10,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund to support their work to achieve racial justice, equality, and an inclusive society. It’s not enough and we will do more. We encourage other companies to find funds to support organizations working to create racial equality. We have a moral obligation to use our privilege to change the systems resulting in systemic oppression of people of color in our country.

Change doesn’t happen overnight - or by one company or one person alone. It happens when large groups of individuals and organizations use their collective power to say this must end. That’s what we’re witnessing in protests across our country. AnswerLab is joining the fight.
